Beatrice Masilingi the star performer at the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge fourth final leg in Windhoek

Beatrice Masilingi, the youth and upcoming athlete provided star performances at the fourth and final leg of the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge, in Windhoek on Saturday 18 May 2019. She caused upsets in the 400m and 100m women, when she beat Tjipekapora Herunga and Jolene Jacobs, who are national champions in the respective events. Beatrice best performance came in the 400m, where she posted a time of 52.33 seconds, which elevated her to second on the rankings, with a score of 1114. Fireworks expected at the last leg of the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek this weekend

All athletics roads lead to the Independence Stadium in Olympia this weekend as athletes try to get a ranking in the top 10 and share in the grand price of N$50 000. The competition is the last opportunity for athletes get ranked in the top 10. Currently, seven athletes have posted performance that achieved the minimum IAAF scores of 1000 or better. The rankings are topped by Ernst Narib with 1073, closely followed by Mahmad Bock with 1050 with performances in the 400m and Sandro Diergaardt in 3rd with a score of 1045 achieved in the long jump. The seven athletes that are currently eligible to share the grand prize based on the completed three legs at Othiwarongo, Swakopmund and Oshakati are Ernst Narib, Mahmad Bock, Sandro Diergaardt, Ismael Tjiramba, Thasiso Auchamub, Klaasman Wencuslaus, and Vizamuje Ujaha. Helalia Johannes and Jeremia Shaliaxue National Half Marathon Champions for 2019

The MTC Dr Sam Nujoma National Half Marathon took place in Windhoek this morning. Helalia Johannes and Jeremia Shaliaxwe were crowned women and men National Half Marathon Champions this morning at the 2019 National Half Marathon Championships in Windhoek this morning. All is set for the MTC-Dr Sam Nujoma National Half Marathon

The online registration for the MTC-Dr Sam Nujoma National Half Marathon has closed and all is set for Sunday morning. Heavy weights in Namibia’s road running are expected to take part including the Queen of road running Helalia Johannes. Those that were not able to make the online registration will have the opportunity to register during supplementary registration on Saturday, 11 May 2019 at the Dr Agustino Neto Square, Ausspannplats. Late registration is N$150. Late registration and number collection will be between 11h00 and 15h00.

Khomas Track & Field Championships this weekend in Windhoek

The Khomas Athletics Region is hosting its regional track & field championships this weekend 23rd March 2019 at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek. Exciting competition expected at Oshakati as athletes expected to gear up performances to claim a share of the grand prize

All athletics roads lead to Oshakati, where the 3rd leg of the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge takes place at the Independence Stadium. So far three athletes have achieved the minimum threshhold to claim a share of the grand prize, in the jumps. Sandro Diergardt is at the top of the rankigs, with a score of 1004, followed by the high jump duo of Klassman W, and Ujaha Visamuje tied at 1002 each. The rankings are expected to change as the sprints and middle distances are expected to improve and climb the rankings. Athletes such as Ernst Narib, Mohamed Bock and Dantago Gurirab are expected to post performances that achieve minimum threshhold IAAF score of 1000 points at the fast Oshakati track. The competition will kick-off at 09h00 on Saturday, 16 March 2019.

Helalia Johannes wins and sets new National Record in the Marathon at the Nagoya Women’s Marathon

Helalia Johannes won the Nagoya Women’s Marathon in Nagoya, Japan. She won the race in a personal best time and new national record of 2:22.25. As the winner of the largest woman’s marothon in the world, she was also awarded the first “Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) Inspirational Women Award”.
