Ryan Williams set a new Namibian national record in the Discus for men at CAA-SR Senior Championships that took place in Harare from the 09 -10 June 2017. Ryan achieved a distance of 45.95m and improved on Hansie Booysen record of 45.74 that was set in 1991.  The men’s 4x400m as well as the women’s 4x100m also set new Namibian records at the Championships.

The Namibian team of 23 athletes, generally had a good outing at the championships and brought home a total of 12 medals: 2 x gold medals; 1 x sliver medal; and 9 x bronze medals.

Leena Ekandjo, Gold and Bronze in the women’s 5000m and 300m, respectively.
