Namibia among a few African countries to get medals at the athletics World Championships in Doha

Helalia Johannes’ bronze medal in the women marathon has ensured that Namibia was among medal winners at the global athletics events. Namibia was represented by two athletes, with Thomas Rainhold ending a respectable 17th in the men’s marathon. The athletes were accompanied by coach Robert Kaxuxuena, who coaches the two athletes. Athletics Namibia extends its congratulations to the team.

AN hosts a basic coaching course for private primary schools in Windhoek

Athletics Namibia facilitated an Athletics Namibia Basic Coaching Course for private primary schools in Windhoek on the 27 September 2019. Eleven teachers from private primary schools in Windhoek were taken through the course by Mr Gottfried Tsowaseb and Ms Barbara Fernandez. The course focused on Kid’s Athletics and Throws. The training took place at the Christ Love Primary School in Dorado.

Beatrice Masilingi the star performer at the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge fourth final leg in Windhoek

Beatrice Masilingi, the youth and upcoming athlete provided star performances at the fourth and final leg of the Coca Cola Regional Club Challenge, in Windhoek on Saturday 18 May 2019. She caused upsets in the 400m and 100m women, when she beat Tjipekapora Herunga and Jolene Jacobs, who are national champions in the respective events. Beatrice best performance came in the 400m, where she posted a time of 52.33 seconds,

The MTC Dr Sam Nujoma National Half Marathon took place in Windhoek this morning. Helalia Johannes and Jeremia Shaliaxwe were crowned women and men National Half Marathon Champions this morning at the 2019 National Half Marathon Championships in Windhoek this morning. The online registration for the MTC-Dr Sam Nujoma National Half Marathon has closed and all is set for Sunday morning. Heavy weights in Namibia’s road running are expected to take part including the Queen of road running Helalia Johannes. Those that were not able to make the online registration will have the opportunity to register during supplementary registration on Saturday, 11 May 2019 at the Dr Agustino Neto Square, Ausspannplats.
